Vail Activities - Things to Do in The Vail Valley

Though Breckenridge has become known for our premiere ski mountain, getting to know Breckenridge fully can take you many visits, and explorations of our town and all it offers. Winter in Breckenridge is known for great powder, and killer terrain at Breckenridge Ski Resort, but during the summer the base of Peak 8 comes alive with the Breckenridge Summer fun Park. The fun park hosts a wide array of incredible adventures for all ages, including a maze, bounce houses, gold panning, jeep rides, the alpine slide, and the gold runner coaster. Also, many people are surprised to learn that the ski area is explorable national forest with a myriad of trails for biking, hiking, and 4 wheeling on your own. Virtually the entire ten mile range (peak 1 to quandary) offers nature hungry guests some of the most beautiful scenery Mother Nature offers. Climb a 14teener, hike Mohawk Lakes, Explore Iowa Hill, or spend a few days on the Peaks Trail and get into nature.

Just as abundant as our vast trail system, is our cultural and arts district in Downtown Breck. History comes alive in our Downtown museum district, consisting of six different types of museums, each offering its own piece of history, and story of Breckenridge. From Historic cemeteries, to the Children’s Museum, to the Barney Ford House, you can get to know what makes Breckenridge so special during your vacation. The arts district is just as vast, and much more encompassing, delivering virtually every kind of artistic outlet imaginable. Photography, sculpture, painting, writing, metal, glass, ceramics, and several types of dance all come together in our arts district to offer visitors quite an experience. You can visit and simply admire the different artistic skills at one of our many galleries and studios, or get involved and take a class to learn something new you can bring home with you.
